Trophy Battery Warranty

General Warranty Overview

Every Trophy Battery is engineered and built as a premium-quality battery. That’s why every battery is backed by a 10-year non-prorated limited warranty.

Trophy Battery is committed to providing customer-first warranty support in the event of an issue. We ask only that our batteries receive reasonable care and are not damaged or abused.

With proper use, Trophy Batteries are designed to deliver years of reliable, trouble-free service.

Why Our Warranty Is Different

Most battery manufacturers offer prorated warranties, which significantly reduce coverage over time. Some provide a short non-prorated period, followed by years of limited, declining protection.

We believe this approach offers little value to customers.

That’s why Trophy Battery provides a full 10-year non-prorated warranty, with no reduced coverage based on age.

We encourage customers to carefully compare other warranties to ours when selecting batteries.

Battery Capacity & Normal Aging

All batteries experience a natural reduction in capacity over time.

  • Capacity decline is expected and normal
  • Even at 80% of original capacity, a Trophy Battery can provide usable power for many years
  • At 70% capacity, the battery is considered end-of-life

Capacity reduction depends largely on:

  • Ambient temperature
  • Charging rate
  • Discharging rate

Because Trophy Battery does not control environmental conditions or usage, battery capacity itself is not warranted.

Temperature & Storage Guidelines

  • Recommended operating and storage temperature: room temperature, up to 100°F
  • Temperatures above 105°F reduce battery life and capacity
  • Batteries must not be stored in direct sunlight or environments above 105°F

The Battery Management System (BMS) protects against extreme temperatures; however, prolonged exposure to heat will shorten battery life.

Cold temperatures temporarily reduce capacity. Once the battery returns to room temperature, normal capacity resumes.

10-Year Non-Prorated Limited Warranty Coverage

Trophy Battery provides a 10-year non-prorated limited warranty to the original purchaser, provided the battery has not been abused or damaged.

Under certain conditions, and at Trophy Battery’s sole discretion, remaining warranty coverage may be extended to a second owner.

During the 10-Year Warranty Period, Trophy Battery Will:

  • Replace the entire set of battery cells if any cell fails:
  • Cell failure includes cells that are open, shorted, or unable to take a charge
  • Physical damage to cells is not covered
  • Replace a failed BMS
  • Replace failed internal components
  • Replace a failed LCD display

If possible, BMS or LCD replacements may be shipped directly to you to avoid returning the battery. Trophy Battery will assist with troubleshooting and replacement instructions.

Repairs, Replacements & Shipping

  • Some repairs require the battery to be returned to Trophy Battery
  • A Return Materials Authorization (RMA) is required before shipping
  • Customers are responsible for shipping the battery to Trophy Battery (freight prepaid)

Return Shipping Coverage

  • United States: Trophy Battery pays return shipping
  • Outside the U.S.: Trophy Battery provides $250 toward return shipping

We strongly recommend retaining original packaging materials for safe transport.

If the Battery Cannot Be Repaired

At Trophy Battery’s discretion, we will provide:

  • A suitable replacement battery (new or properly maintained used inventory), or
  • A refund of the original purchase price

Any repaired or replaced battery carries the remaining balance of the original warranty period.

Replacement batteries may differ in appearance or specifications and may not be suitable for parallel use with existing batteries. Safety guidance will be provided if this occurs.

Parts Availability & Substitutions

Identical components may not be available in the future. Trophy Battery will make its best efforts to use appropriate replacement parts or cells.

If original cells are unavailable, solutions will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Please note that delays may occur if parts are not immediately available.

Warranty Transfer to a Second Owner

This warranty benefits the original purchaser. If the battery or property is sold:

  • Proof of battery condition may be required
  • Warranty transfer is not guaranteed
  • Any transfer is at Trophy Battery’s sole discretion

BMS Settings & Warranty Protection

Factory BMS settings are optimized to extend battery life.

  • Adjustments that further extend battery life may be allowed with written approval
  • Changes that reduce battery lifespan will void the warranty unless pre-approved

What Voids the Warranty

The following are considered abuse or conditions beyond Trophy Battery’s control and will void the warranty:

  • Physical damage (including shipping damage)
  • Improper voltage or AC current
  • Series connections (parallel only)
  • Missing communication cables between batteries
  • Short-circuit-caused damage

  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Improper chargers, alternators, or generators
  • Charging directly from solar without a proper charger or inverter
  • Improper installation
  • Mixing battery models or chemistries in parallel unless recommended or approved by Trophy Battery
  • Failure to maintain charge (must be recharged to 50% every 3 months during storage)
  • Cell tampering or label removal
  • Acts of God (water, lightning, earthquakes, etc.)
  • Marine (excessive exposure to salty air), corrosive, excessive humidity, or high-vibration environments without proper shock protection
  • Engine starting applications
  • Exposure to excessive heat, sunlight, or outdoor environments
  • Fluid contamination (water, oil, grease)

Note: Cosmetic damage is not covered
